Every year we carry out a minimum of one full inspection of every children's home, and every children’s home that is less than good also receives an interim inspection. Inspections take place using Ofsted’s social care common inspection framework. Inspection judgements are underpinned by the regulations and the ‘Guide to the children’s homes regulations including the quality standards’. These require a strong focus on improving outcomes for children and young people. Inspections are intended not only to test compliance but also to raise standards and drive improvement in the sector. Inspectors evaluate how the service contributes to children and young people’s experiences and supports them to make progress. Inspection reports always relate to the framework published at the time of the inspection.
