Every year we carry out a minimum of one full inspection and one interim inspection of every children's home. Inspection judgements are underpinned by the regulations and the ‘Guide to the children’s homes regulations including the quality standards’. These require a strong focus on improving outcomes for children and young people. Inspections are intended not only to test compliance but also to raise standards and drive improvement in the sector. Inspectors evaluate how the service contributes to children and young people’s experiences and supports them to make progress. Inspection reports always relate to the framework published at the time of the inspection.
