We publish a ‘Complaint: actions taken outcome summary’ when we have looked into a concern or a notification from a setting on the Early Years Register. This includes any type of regulatory visit or phone call we make to the setting.

It details the steps we, or the setting, have taken to make sure they comply with the requirements for registration. If we take further action on the same issue or an additional issue, we will update the existing outcome summary.

An outcome summary will say if we have:

• served a welfare requirements notice because the setting has not met the safeguarding and welfare requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework
• suspended a setting’s registration and are also taking other enforcement action
• taken steps to cancel the setting’s registration, including if they object or appeal to the First Tier Tribunal
• issued a caution that the setting has accepted
• successfully prosecuted a setting

We will not publish an outcome summary when:

• we carry out any type of inspection
• the setting is only registered on the Childcare Register. In that case, any actions needed will be included in the inspection outcome
• we suspend a provider’s registration but do not take any other enforcement action
